Key Learning Outcomes

This course is designed to build your skills in aged care. You will gain knowledge in areas such as:

- Help clients with domestic duties and personal care needs

Course Outcomes:

- A nationally accredited qualification at Certificate III level

- 120 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer

- A strong pathway to further study in aged care, nursing or community services

Entry requirements and Prerequisites

Is this course right for you?

Entry requirements

Students must:

- Be at least 18 years old and have completed Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

- Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. The interview will also assess whether students can use digital technologies.

- Have sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills as assessed through a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF Level 3 in:Reading, Writing, Numeracy, and Oral Communication to enter the course.

Completion requirements

During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

A National Police Check (NPC)

An NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)

Vaccinations which can include COVID, hepatitis A and B, and influenza

A Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Any additional evidence your work placement provider requires

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is composed of 9 core units and 6 elective units, for a total of 15 units.

Delivery Modes

Blended approach to learning, with face-to-face training and self-paced learning components.

It includes 3 weeks of work placement.
